Lead Prices Rose By 1.23 % On Thursday

Lead prices rose by 1.23 per cent on Thursday due to the decline in the lead stockpiles at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on account of the strong demand for the commodity. LME lead stocks fell by 275 metric tonnes to 185275 metric tonnes as on May 26, 2016.

At the MCX, Lead futures, for the May 2016 contract, is trading at Rs 111.35 per kg, up by 1.23 per cent, after opening at Rs 110.60, against a previous close of Rs 110. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 111.45 till the trading. (At 3.25 PM today) Prices also rose as a result of high demand for the commodity from battery-maker in the spot market in the midst of strong overseas trend.
